Meeting 14: Documenting with From Kudzu

"In our diasporic existentialism, the roots of From Kudzu began to form."

We gathered on grapevine rd. again for this month’s meeting. We harvested kudzu vine in preparation for another annual Kudzu Camp at the end of the month. We saved leaves for a local bunny treat company and coiled the stripped kudzu vines and piled them up. Later they were submerged in water and will be retted for 10 days.

We also had a visit from Kudzu Collective —Nash a Filipino American from Hickory, North Carolina, Hope a mixed Japanese American from Durham, North Carolina, and Mel a Vietnamese American from Jacksonville, Florida. They are traveling around documenting kudzu practices and talking about our life experiences growing up in the U.S. South as Asian American children of immigrants.
